Chadwiki collects as little as it can. The server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for troubleshooting and security. The site also counts page views and post likes through its own engagement service.

We use two third-party analytics services, Umami and Plausible, to see aggregate traffic such as which pages are read. They are privacy-focused, but they do load a script from their servers when you visit.

{ ACCOUNTS, COMMENTS & RATINGS }

Posting comments, ratings and reactions needs an account. Sign-in is handled by Hanko, which manages your email address and passkeys. We receive a user identifier and your chosen username. Your email is not shown next to your comments.

When you comment or rate, we store what you submit (text, rating, reactions, timestamps), your public username, and a one-way hashed identifier of your account used for moderation and to stop duplicate ratings. Comments are public once published. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse. See the Terms and Comment rules.

{ CONTACT FORM }

The contact form sends your name, email and message to our own engagement service, which forwards it to chadwiki. We keep submissions only as long as needed to respond and to run the service.

{ BROWSER STORAGE }

Your browser may store your sign-in session, a note that you agreed to the terms, and a copy of your own pending comments so you can see them before approval. These stay on your device. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

{ WHAT WE DON'T DO }

• We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
• We do not share data with advertisers.
• We do not build advertising profiles or fingerprint browsers.

Site search is powered by Pagefind, which runs entirely in your browser. Search queries never leave your device.

{ HOSTING & OWNERSHIP }

This site is built with Astro and self-hosted, with no website-builder platform in between. Sign-in (Hanko) and analytics (Umami, Plausible) are the outside services described above.

{ YOUR RIGHTS }

To see, correct or delete a comment, rating or contact message of yours, or to ask about your account data, reach out via the contact form. Account deletion itself is handled through your sign-in provider, so tell us if you want it done.
